Ather App: Older OS Sunset FAQ

Why is Ather discontinuing support for my older operating system (OS)?

A smooth, safe and secure app experience is our top priority. Older operating systems no longer receive critical security updates from Mobile OS providers and don't meet the standards required to run the Ather App securely and reliably. To protect your data and ensure the app works as intended, we must focus our support on newer, more secure OS versions.

What are the new minimum OS requirements to get future updates?

To receive all future Ather App updates, new experiences , and security patches, your smartphone must be running:

          • Android: OS version 10 or newer
          • iOS (iPhone): iOS version 16 or newer
I am on an older OS. What happens to my app now?

You can update to (or continue using) Ather App version 12.3.0. This will be the final version available for your current, unsupported OS.

Important Note: With Ather app version 13.1.0, we are updating the experience of certain key features such as the Charging wallet, Service booking, and Support, which may be negatively affected or cease to function entirely for older App versions.

Will my current app (version 12.3.0) stop working if I don't update my OS?

No, your current app (version 12.3.0) will continue to function. However, you will not receive any further app updates. This means you will miss out on new features, bug fixes, and important security patches. Over time, some experiences and features may not work smoothly.

What happens if I uninstall my app? Can I reinstall it on my old OS?

This is very important: If you uninstall the Ather App from a device running an unsupported OS, you will not be able to reinstall it from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.

How do I update my smartphone's OS?

You can typically check for an update in your phone's settings:

          • On iOS (iPhone): Go to Settings > General > Software Update.
          • On Android: Go to Settings > System > System update (this path may vary slightly by manufacturer).
