Who is this feature meant for?
All Ather owners whose scooters are over 3 years old would be able to explore this feature via the Ather mobile application. The purpose of this feature is to provide a snapshot of the scooter’s health based on the scooter’s health. It is intended for the owners who are curious about how well their scooters are aging and what could be the estimated resale value.
How is the health score calculated?
Component health scores are calculated based on standard reliability curves. However, these scores may not capture unexpected or hidden physical issues, such as humidity inside the battery, that can impact performance even if the score is good. In such cases, an inspection by our service center provides the most accurate diagnosis as it relies on real-time data directly from the scooter, and their advice should be followed.
How are belt and brake health calculated?
We estimate the life of your belt and brakes based on average replacement data (30,000km for belts and 10,000km for brakes). Please note that these are based on fleet-wide averages, so the actual life of your components may vary based on your individual riding patterns.
Does Ather guarantee the resale value shown?
No. The resale value shown is only an indicative estimation based on the data that we observe for your scooter’s internal health. It does not take into account the evaluation of external parts or EV used scooter market dynamics. Ather does not guarantee any buyback for your scooter on the showcased resale value range.
How often can I check my scooter’s health?
You can check the health of your scooter any time from the app, but the data only refreshes on the 1st of every month.
Does this feature help with upgrading to a new Ather scooter?
Yes, the report might help you in understanding your scooter’s current health and empower you to negotiate better with the buyer by showing this report and indicative estimated resale value. But the decision to keep, exchange, or upgrade is entirely up to you. Ather does not guarantee any buyback for your scooter on the showcased resale value range.
Are cosmetic damages or scratches included? What about insurance status and traffic challans?
No, neither physical condition nor regulatory factors such as insurance validity of traffic challans are included. Estimated price may vary upon physical inspection of the vehicle and other regulatory checks.
Can I use this report when selling my scooter to someone outside Ather?
Yes, this report can be used while selling your scooter to someone else outside of Ather.
What happens if my scooter’s health improves after repairs? Will my score change?
The health score may improve in the next data refresh, if there is change in key components’ health during the last repair/ periodic service visit.
The app shows me a certain value but the service technician is saying something else.
The service technician’s diagnosis is the most accurate as it relies on real-time data directly from your scooter. Please follow their advice.
