Eight70 Warranty

    • What is Eight70 Warranty?

      Eight70 Warranty is a one-of-a-kind comprehensive 8-year warranty plan that extends the battery’s manufacturer warranty of 3 years by an additional 5 years. In total, you get 8 years or 80 000 km (whichever comes first) of warranty coverage and complete peace of mind. During these 8 years, if your battery health goes below 70% at any point, we’ll replace your battery for free. No questions asked. This warranty plan is an add-on that can be purchased with Pro.

      What are the features of Eight70 Warranty?

      • Eight70 Warranty covers the battery for a total of 8 years/80 000 km.
      • This is the first and only warranty in the industry to cover not just battery failures, but degradation too. The battery is guaranteed to stay above 70% health till the end of the 8th year, else, it will be replaced.
      • Any and all battery defects (cell, electrical, electronic, BMS etc.) are covered under these plans.
      • Idle state assurance: no claim rejection due to deep discharge of battery cells when the scooter is left uncharged or in an idle state over an extended period of time.
      • No upper limit on the claim amount.

      What is the coverage period of Eight70 Warranty?

      Eight70 Warranty coverage lasts up to a total of 8 years or 80 000 km, whichever comes first (Enabled as an add-on for Pro).

      What is covered under Eight70 Warranty?

      Both plans will provide replacement or repair of the batteries that are damaged due to manufacturing defects, workmanship errors or if the battery health falls below 70% within the coverage period. This is free of cost, inclusive of labour charges.

      What is not covered under Eight70 Warranty?

      Here are the things not covered under both plans:

       

      • Damages caused due to customer negligence (except for deep discharge of battery cells due to the vehicle being in idle state).
      • Any modifications/alterations made to the battery will void the warranty. Deletion or alteration of VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and BIN (Battery Identification Number) would not be covered.
      • Situations such as theft, abuse, accident, flooding, fire etc. are not covered under the plan.
      • Battery's natural wear and tear or any physical damage in parts & conditions is also excluded. For more details refer to the Terms & Conditions.

      Is Eight70 Warranty transferable?

      Yes. In case of sale of the scooter to another person, the warranty policy will be transferred to the new owner.

      How can I register a claim under Eight70 Warranty?

      Just bring your scooter to the nearest Ather Service Center and state your battery concerns. If the issue is covered under Eight70 Warranty, the service center will check for validity and applicability of the same. Once verified, we will repair or replace the relevant part, free of charge.

      Will the start date of Eight70 Warranty be based on the vehicle invoice date or policy certificate date?

      It will be based on the vehicle invoice date.

      How can I check my battery health?

      Battery health data is reliable only after the vehicle has completed 10 000 kilometres. You can reach out to Ather’s customer support team, and we will help you with it.

      Will I get a certificate for Eight70 Warranty at the time of delivery?

      The warranty certificate will be mailed to the scooter owners within 30 days of invoice.
