Safety First!

We take this quite literally here at Ather. All our products (Electrical batteries, EVs and Charging devices) have safety protocols inbuilt at the designing stage itself, ensuring the safest ride for you and your EV.

Some safety measures that make our devices super safe

Your charger comes with a neat little feature called Inbuilt auto cut-off. It’s activated when the EV reaches 100% during charging.

This prevents excess electricity from entering the battery, protecting it from damage and overheating for years to come.Your charger also comes with Surge protection to shield your Ather from any harm caused by the many power fluctuations you may come across.

Life comes with its own ups and downs but at least your EV’s power supply won’t. We believe in being safe rather than sorry.

Just take a look at the electrical insulation and fire-retardant material used in building your charger for proof. While the weather may be unpredictable, the condition of your chargers won’t be.

Thanks to their waterproof design preventing any rain or environmental damage.

While every possible measure has been taken to ensure your EV’s safety, there are a few simple things you should keep in mind as well.

Battery: Dos and Don’ts

Do not tamper with or disassemble the battery pack by yourself.

Please leave the servicing to our experts.Do not try to open the screws in the battery pack while cleaning or for any other reason. We will gladly do it for you at the next service.

Do not take off the floorboard to clean the scooter thoroughly with any materials of your own. Trust us, it’s okay if you miss this spot.

Ensure all servicing occurs only at Ather authorised service centers. This is where you’ll find the experts we spoke about above.Do not use your own screws around the battery area.

It’s like apples and oranges, they are just different.

Never carry out unauthorised changes or other technical modifications to the battery or the battery management system.

Please do visit your nearest Ather Service Center for any clarifications.

Charger: Dos and Don’ts

Do not use an extension box to plug in your portable charger. While it might be more convenient, it may also be more hazardous.

Do not use a charger that is not authorised by Ather. No extra points for mixing and matching here. Auto cut-off allows you to keep the charger plugged in even after 100% is hit. So no stress when you forget to unplug. If you ever do, that is.

Do make sure you remove the connector only when the key is ON. Do not charge a scooter in a place with potentially explosive materials nearby (petrol, kerosene, welding works, etc.).

Do we really need to say why? Do not clean the charger with any sort of chemical detergent. All you need is a clean, dry cloth and your charger is squeaky clean again.

Do not get repairs done at unauthorised service centers. In case the charger is not working, drop by at the closest Ather service center. We will take care of it for you.

Do not use a charger if it has any physical damage on the connector or cable. Have it inspected and repaired at the nearest Ather service center.

Do not smoke around the charger.Never carry out unauthorised changes or other technical modifications to the charger or the charging system.
